GABORONE, Botswana- Representatives from Kenya Biovax Institute joined other experts, industry, and development partners involved in vaccine research and development, technology transfer, and vaccine market shaping for a three-day interactive meeting to discuss and review best practices and case studies on vaccine technology transfer.
The overarching goal of the three-day meeting is to promote local manufacturing and access to vaccines, medicines and other health technologies in Africa. During today’s meeting, members delved into matters related to Partnerships and collaborations, challenges, recommendations, and strategies to ensure sustainable partnerships.
The meeting will conclude on 15 March 2024. It was co-organized by the Local Production and Assistance Unit in the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Africa CDC, in collaboration with the WHO Regional Office for Africa and with co-funding from the European Union.
