Sustainable Vaccine Manufacturing through End-to-End Vaccine Research & Development Projects in Africa

H.E. the President of the Republic of Kenya William Samoei Ruto co-hosted a high-level breakfast meeting with the International Vaccine Institute and the Africa CDC on ‘Sustainable Vaccine Manufacturing through End-to-End Vaccine Research & Development Projects in Africa’.

In his remarks, His Excellency the president highlighted Kenya’s committed to working closely with valued institutions and partners, including the African Union, Africa CDC, the African Medicines Agency (AMA), the World Health Organization (WHO), International Vaccine Institute, and other international stakeholders.

On the margins of the 37th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union. In attendance was the H.E. Brahim Ghali, President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, H.E. Mohamed al-Menfi, Chairman of the Presidential Council of Libya, Hon. Ahmed Hachani, PM of Tunisia.

On her part, The Ministry of Health CS Hon. Susan Nakhumicha noted that Kenya had made significant strides through a structured whole-government approach in establishing Kenya BioVax Institute Limited as a human vaccine manufacturing facility.
