The Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) of the Health Emergency Preparedness, Response, and Resilience Project (HEPRR) made a field visit to Kenya Biovax Institute and got the chance to understand Kenya BioVax’s vision of supporting the global public health agenda of achieving a world free from vaccine-preventable diseases.
During the visit, the Chairman, Board of Directors, Mr. Mugo Kibati, stated to the RAC members that sustainable vaccine manufacturing plays a crucial role in enhancing the effectiveness and resilience of health emergency preparedness and response efforts. He added that the HEPRR project presented an unprecedented opportunity to lay the foundation for a more resilient and responsive health system in Eastern and Southern Africa. He took the opportunity to thank the World Bank and other strategic partners such as IGAD, ECSA and US-CDC, noting that, with their support, Africa is better equipped to tackle health crises and protect communities.The CEO of Kenya BioVax Institute Limited underscored the importance of partnerships in the success of this noble project. He firmly believes that the project’s achievements will not solely be determined by the strength of alliances formed but also by the collective efforts and commitment of all stakeholders.
